Word/Phrase/ and Quote for the week of July 3rd

The words of the week will be distributed on random days (i.e. whenever I think of it). The word of the week is brought to you by the C and the number 10. The phrase of the week is brought to you by the month of June (THANK GOSH THAT MONTH IS DONE).

WORD OF THE DAY (this week’s theme is Words from medicine; we do work in for hospital.)- This feature is to expand our vocabulary.

catholicon • \kuh-THOL-i-kuhn\ • noun

A panacea or cure-all.

Orgin: Via Latin from Greek katholikos (general), from kata (according to, by) + holou (whole). Ultimately from the Indo-European root sol- (whole) that gave us words such as solid, salute, save, salvo, and soldier.

Example: One day I hope there is a catholicon for cancer.

PHRASE OF THE DAY- This feature is so we stay young, hip, and happening.
Alculate • \Alk -U -Late \• verb

To calculate how cost effective an alcoholic beverage is. Otherwise known as the cost per shot ratio.

Example: Philip - I am so drunk off the two Bud Lights I consumed in the last 10 hours.

Buck - I just alculated that you are a sober loser.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK- This might be a famous quote, overheard conversation, or something someone said directly. Think US Weekly’s Star’s said page.

This week it is a picture because a picture speaks a thousand words.

It says:
MANDOL
Instantly stifles caring feelings
Increases selfishness to normal levels
Proven to help emotional draw to puppies and babies
